update

Clearly, I'm terrible at keeping an updated blog, but Jessica has somewhat inspired me to make a post. I also have lots of work to do, which is another good reason why I should be writing a blog post instead. I've been a "resident" of California for about a month now. Now that school has started, it already seems like almost every night is taken up by something (usually some form of school work). This definitely beats the couple of weeks I had with absolutely nothing to do.
This past weekend I ventured into "the city" (what anyone apparently calls San Francisco who is within a 1.5 hour radius) to visit Jessica and go to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass which Iron & Wine was playing at. I really like Iron & Wine. Though, I must confess, I didn't realize that they were playing there until I was there... yes, typical, I know. They were fantastic regardless. I can't write nearly as good a write-up as Jessica (hopefully she doesn't mind me linking her blog...) did, but I will summarize my findings on my second trip to the city:
1. The California sun burns just as badly as the Florida sun.
2. I can out drink Jessica.
3. Some blue grass artists are not good - others are fantastic.
4. I saw a drunk man almost get taken out by an elderly drunk man for stealing his porta-potty. There was a long line... The younger man should be glad he made it in the porta-potty because the old guy totally had him.
5. To some, posing on a random toilet which was left on the sidewalk of a street is humorous.
6. Apparently, there's an 80's/disco skating rink in the middle of Golden Gate Park. Next time I know to bring my roller skates on Sunday so I can boogie.
7. I couldn't find a single McCain poster in the city. (Not that this bothered me at all, it was just a little game I started to entertain myself along the walk.)
8. I like San Francisco.
All in all, it was a great trip.

As far as Davis is concerned, I haven't explored too much yet, so more to come on the actual town I live in later...
